The Alchemy of Our Essence
ArtOFire was born from the belief that making things with your hands is one of the oldest forms of healing.
I'm Kristen — a ceramic artist, candle maker, painter, and Bach flower essence practitioner living and working from my studio in the Southern California mountains. Everything I make is handcrafted in small batches, rooted in natural materials, and shaped by the landscape around me.
The name ArtOFire says it all: clay transformed by kiln fire, wax brought to life by flame, pigment and water becoming something that didn't exist before. Transformation is at the heart of everything I create.
How It All Began
My relationship with Bach flower essences began during a season of change — I was living alone in Amsterdam, far from everything familiar, navigating something harder than I had anticipated. I turned to Bach flower remedies not knowing quite what to expect, and found in them a quiet, steady kind of guidance. They accompanied me through that chapter in a way I've never forgotten.
I've been studying and working with them ever since.
Now, from a pine-surrounded studio in the Southern California mountains, I blend Bach flower essences alongside the ceramics I throw on the wheel, the candles I pour by hand, and the paintings I paint. Each product line is different in form, but they share the same intention — to bring something grounded, beautiful, and genuinely useful into your everyday life.
What I Make
Ceramics — Wheel-thrown and kiln-fired in small batches. Layered glazes mean every piece is one of a kind. Made for daily rituals and the kind of beauty that belongs on a kitchen shelf.
Candles — Hand-poured using sustainable soy wax and phthalate-free fragrance oils. Small-batch, intentional, and long-burning.
Bach Flower Essence Blends — Thoughtfully formulated using authentic Bach flower essences to support emotional balance, ease transitions, and inspire creative well-being. Each blend is made with care and a deep respect for the tradition behind it.
